After years of total discrimination on a grand scale both domestic and militarily things finally changed Saturday, December 19 in the early morning as 8 Repulicans sided with all of the Democrats with the exception of Senator Joe Manchin (who decided to not even show up to vote). The repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell is completed, a policy which never should have existed is finally history. It was not completed without the lies, innuendo and deceit of the Republicans to demonize and discredit the services of so many willing to serve and give their lives for we the American people.
One person who sided with equality was the freshman senator from Illinois Senator Mark Kirk. Good idea to be on the right side of a historic moment.
